LiveUP moment Nancy Snyder, Laboratory Administrative Assistant, considers serving the patients, families and co-workers at Mercy-Centerville her privilege. MRS. GORDY WAS at Mercy-Centerville for a test accompanied by her husband. As they were getting ready to leave, Mr. Gordy became dizzy and felt lightheaded. Nancy, who was coming down the hall at the time, immediately recognized the problem and took him into the lab to sit down. She and other staff members offered him a cold soda and made sure he was OK before the couple left. "We think you should know about Nancy and the other staff who stepped in to help," Mrs. Gordy says. "Their care was very much appreciated, and we thank them. It's your employees who make the hospital." This another great LiveUp moment as Nancy demonstrates that Serving is a Privilege. Regardless of job title, everyone at Mercy Medical Center-Centerville is a caregiver. Recently, the hospital received a very nice letter from patient Joy Gordy complimenting Nancy Snyder, Laboratory Administrative Assistant, for her outstanding service. 5 Quick Ways to LiveUP Today 1. Smile and greet others. 2. Volunteer for a compassionate cause. 3. Tell someone why you think he or she is remarkable. 4. Donate blood. 5. Take a 10-minute walk and enjoy the scenery.
