DNV GL IMPRESSED BY UMC HEALTH SYSTEM'S SERVICE-ORIENTED CULTURE.
AS THE ONLY accreditation program to integrate the CMS
Conditions of Participation with a quality management program,
DNV GL makes visits annually to review the quality of accredited
hospitals. In 2016, UMC Health System was evaluated for and
received reaccreditation based on meeting or exceeding the group's
standards for patient care and clinical processes.
A STANDOUT CULTURE
One of the goals of accreditation by DNV GL is to find ways to
improve. Each survey and reaccreditation provide an opportunity
to move us one step closer to our goal of becoming the best health
system in the nation.
"UMC is known for the teamwork built by our physicians and
staff here," said Carrie Jennings, B.S.N., R.N., accreditation
manager at UMC Health System. "Two of the surveyors made a
point to compliment us on our culture. One noted that if he went
back to work at a hospital, he would consider it an honor to work at
UMC. e other noted that he would be comfortable and confident
as a patient at UMC — not true of every hospital he visits across
the nation."
