SNEED RECENTLY COMPLETED a doctorate of physical therapy at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. During graduate school, she gained experience in orthopaedic rehabilitation during rotations in North Carolina and Indiana, as well as wound care treatment in Louisiana. She also provided inpatient physical therapy care at a level 2 acute care facility in South Bend, Indiana. An experience growing up in Indianapolis drew Sneed to a career in physical therapy. "When I was in high school, my mom needed assistance at home with caring for post-surgical wounds," she explains. "That experience, along with dealing with personal injuries and wounds, helped develop my interest in physical therapy." "Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge on caring for a wide variety of conditions and patients," says Karmen Weinzirl, PT, director of HRMC's rehabilitation services. "She has a passion for orthopaedic injury and post- surgical rehabilitation and is a great addition to our team." "I was attracted to HRMC because the position allows me to use both my orthopaedic and wound care experiences," Sneed says. "I truly enjoy working one-on-one with my patients to help them achieve their goals and live as independently and pain-free as possible." Sneed recently married and relocated to Huron with her husband, Nathan. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, reading and being active in church. ■ For more information about physical therapy, wound care and other rehabilitation services at HRMC, call (605) 353-6253 or visit www.huronregional.org/services/rehabilitation.
