AN AMERICAN BOARD of Family Medicine-certied family practice physician, Dr. Fraser has cared for people of all ages throughout his nearly 30-year medical career. After he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency at Black Hawk Area Family Practice, he primarily focused on obstetrics, well- child care and caring for newborns. Over the years, however, his area of expertise has changed. "My practice has 'matured' to the point that my main focus is now on adult and elderly care," Dr. Fraser says. "I like providing preventive services, but I especially enjoy helping my patients manage chronic medical problems. I value the long-term relationships I have with my patients. They have become old friends, and I suspect I get as much positive benet from our encounters as they do." Some of the diseases and conditions Dr. Fraser treats include diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and chronic lung conditions. As the senior member of the medical team, he also performs an administrative role within the clinic. Although his practice keeps him busy, Dr. Fraser makes time for yard work and always has at least one home improvement project in the works. He nds his greatest joy, he says, in being a grandfather.
