Fidelity to the Gospel urges us to emphasize human dignity and social justice as we create healthier communities. People Have the Best Possible Health Our annual Core Values Breakfast has been completed for another year. Lead Chef Jeff Pederson (also President of CHI Friendship) and his co-chefs from the Senior Management team were at it again this year, cooking pancakes and sausages for more than 400 Friendship staff members at multiple department meetings over a four-month time frame. "The purpose of these breakfasts is more than just food," said Dori Leslie, Vice President of Friendship. "It's a time of reflection and coming together as a team, and it reiterates the purpose of why we work here." During this annual event, meaningful discussions take place on the importance of Friendship's Core Values of Reverence, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence. This year we captured more than 1,170 stories to add to our wall of excellence. Many of the stories included staff who go above and beyond their expected duties, how we continue to provide the best health, safety, and welfare services possible, and about the people we support achieving their goals and dreams. "All of the breakfasts that we served are only a small token of gratitude for what our staff do on a day-to-day basis," said Pederson. "It is reassuring to have such wonderful staff who truly care and live our Core Values." Friendship provides nursing services in a variety of ways. Our nursing staff oversees the medical supports for each person on their case load, teach other staff members how to perform delegated medical tasks, and ensure that all departments have the necessary medical supplies and equipment. Friendship provides services to people with a variety of medical needs, and each care plan is individualized to each person we support. Our nursing staff is there with a smile or a hug to comfort people who are in pain or ill. Most of all, our nurses are there to encourage people to live happy, healthy lives.
