Our Inspiration...Mandy's spirit of volunteerism. Mandy Alford had been su ering from severe stomach pain when her colon ruptured. She went through a series of surgeries and spent six weeks unconscious and more than 50 days in the Intensive Care Unit. Unable to walk or talk after regaining consciousness, Mandy underwent extensive therapy and miraculously recovered. To show her gratitude to St. Dominic's, Mandy now volunteers on the same hospital fl oor where she was treated. "My doctors and nurses at St. Dominic's were so kind and loving. They saved my life."
