10 Years of Controlling Diabetes, Medication-Free I n the fall of 2001, 71-year-old Arnold Bogus of Marlboro was first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. "My primary care physician told me to go to CentraState's Novo Nordisk Diabetes Center and learn about diabetes management," Arnold says. "I took a seven-week workshop and cannot say enough about the exceptional diabetes education I received and CentraState's dedicated staff. " Accompanied to sessions by his wife, Anita, a CentraState volunteer, Arnold learned how to control his disease through diet and exercise. "You have to be willing to change," Arnold says. "My wife was a big supporter.
