The sophisticated maternity care at
King's Daughters' Health allows moms
and dads to welcome the newest
members of their families close to
their loved ones – and close to home.

ASIA YOUNG, 28, was almost 37 weeks pregnant when she
started experiencing swelling. Concerned, she went to her
doctor at KDH, who diagnosed her with preeclampsia, a very
serious form of high blood pressure that can affect women
during and right after pregnancy. Her doctor recommended
her labor be induced.
"The nurses were great," Young says. "Everyone treated me
really well. I had to have my blood pressure measured every
15 minutes, and they really catered to me."
After a long, trying labor, Young and her husband, James,
welcomed a healthy baby boy to the world.
"When the shift changed after my delivery, my new nurse
was someone who lived in my hometown," she says. "I knew
her well, which made me so comfortable. The entire staff was
great. I would definitely have another baby there."
Team Effort
Deliveries like Young's are made possible by the dedicated staff
of nurses and OB/GYNs at KDH.
"Everyone works as a team," says Tina Hendrick, MD,
OB/GYN at KDH. "Nurses are very quick to pick up
responsibilities and jump into action if there's ever a
