PHOTOGRAPHER: WHITNEY SHAW PROJECT: Sudbury, MA BUILDER: Woodside Development DESIGNER: Shane Structures At Candy Hill Lane in Sudbury, a shingle-style home packed with custom features and details has over 6,300 square feet of living space, including six bedrooms and seven baths. Mike takes us through the near-year-long journey to create this masterpiece. "It was meant to be a spec house built in mainstream style, affordable and with familiar architecture. Instead, I thought this very special piece of property deserved a house that would do it justice. With its quality features and Ultra Energy Efficiency, this house qualified as one of our custom homes but without an owner until it sold. It was a lot of fun to work on this house, which showcased the true talents of our construction team. It's built for entertaining, with an entire first floor that flows together. The kitchen ties together beautifully between the wet bar off the living room and the connection with the dining room. An additional distinction is the different aura presented in each room regarding millwork and finishes. The office is built one way and the family room is designed with very spacious proportions. The rest has more of an elegant style. The kitchen's one side has all high-end appliances, while the other side has a country feel with a breakfast bar. Upstairs, all bedrooms have their own private baths. The enormous master suite has a great exterior view, a fireplace and a his and hers master closet. With soaring elevated ceilings, this room occupies nearly half of the second floor." PHOTOGRAPHER: WHITNEY SHAW BOSTON.BUILDERARCHITECT.COM Builder+Architect Greater Boston |
