POWERED BY www.mesh01.com Durability/perceived quality. Performance features offered by the brand. Price. Brand's reputation for quality/ performance. Brand's values and how they align with mine. The brands I purchase are performance based. The brands I purchase are more of a statement about what they say about me rather than how they perform. When you are shopping for sports- specific products, what comes first, your footwear purchase or the apparel purchase? 56% 19% 26% Footwear Apparel I buy both together When you are shopping for sports lifestyle products, what comes first, your footwear purchase or the apparel purchase? 24% 43% 33% Footwear Apparel I buy both together Selected Comments Well, it depends :) Female 36 I'm sporty, so I like to look sporty. Female 33 If the products don't function correctly they are useless. But brand values do play a role. Male 43 I'm not trendy as I've found most trendy gear to be low performance. Female 34 Please... Male 56 What I wear shows off my style, not the brand's performance. Female 35 Performance is most important. Ironically, I believe the performance history of the brand says something about me. Male 31 While I disagree, the sportswear I wear does also reflect my style. But it has to perform well, too. Female 36 Performance is more important. Male 30 I represent myself and don't need someone or some entity to do so. I only choose products whether it be sportswear, gear, clothing, or electronics based upon reliability, longevity, and functional performance. The rest is fluff. Male 43 I want my gear to work, not make a statement. Female 28 It needs to be both a representation of my style as well as effective in its abilities. Male 36 Oh gosh, no. I don't care how pretty it looks or how viral it has become; if it doesn't function properly then it isn't worth the money. Female 33 Selected Comment No brainer. Footwear, then legwear, then tops, then headwear, if necessary. I buy according to what specific sport or activity I am purchasing for. Female 27 Selected Comments It depends on the sport. For running, shoes are most important. For yoga or the gym, clothes matter more to me because it is more of a social activity and because shoes don't impact my performance much. Female 35 I feel like footwear is the most important aspect of the sport and its function trumps the clothing. Female 32 I depend more on my apparel fitting properly for sports activities. Shoes will come after purchasing apparel. For example, if I purchase apparel for wet weather and hiking, I would buy shoes/boots to match those attributes after purchasing the apparel. Female 26 Apparel is usually cheaper, so I get that first. Male 31 I usually buy them together because when I buy shoes, there's usually recommended matching apparel items. Female 20 I like to buy matching shoes after apparel shopping. Female 38 You are generally moving around quite a bit in whatever sport you are doing so footwear is paramount to start off as a base. If I don't already have the appropriate clothing I will also get that as well. Male 36 Whatever is needed at the moment, but if I can get a good deal on accompanying pieces, then sure.
