Acteev Expands with Plant-Based Options Growing beyond its anti-odor roots, the Acteev brand intro- duces new high-tenacity nylon, an anti-static fiber and a certified bio-based nylon to its odor-fight- ing offering. Acteev's flagship anti-odor line is now labeled Acteev FREE and targets the athleisure, outdoor wear and intimates markets. Acteev FREE can be combined with other fibers to create custom blends, and it allows for dyeing without limitations. Acteev TOUGH is a high-tenac- ity, low-DPF nylon 6,6 staple fiber designed for rugged applications such as workwear, footwear, back- packs, straps and climbing ropes. As a staple fiber, it is suitable for intimate blends and integrates well with cotton and wool for looks requiring uniform dyeing. Acteev BIOSERVE is a nylon derived from plant sources aimed at helping brands achieve their sustainability goals without sac- rificing performance. Acteev CLEAN is a fiber with anti-static properties that repel hair, dust and lint on textiles for clothing and household goods such as upholster y. Acteev CLEAN's functionality is embed- ded within the fiber itself and requires no finishes or chemical treatments, making it ideal for next-to-skin applications. "Our textile scientists can work directly with brands to create a material that solves their custom- ers' biggest challenges," Huffman said. "For example, a maker of athleisure might want a no-odor garment that can go from gym to street while also repelling pet hair at home. We can combine our technologies to deliver that, and even make it plant-based and low-carbon," states Nikki Huffman, global business devel- opment director for Acteev. Gore Campaign Spotlights ePE Innovation A new Gore-Tex campaign, launched by the company's Fabric Division, calls out the durability performance of the Gore-Tex brand's new ePE membrane. Products featuring the Gore- Tex Brand ePE membrane offer durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable performance; are light, thin yet strong; have a reduced carbon impact (per Higg MSI) and are PFC Free. The campaign theme, "Going Further, Together," champions the human story behind the brand by highlighting people wearing Gore-Tex gear during outdoor experiences. Spearheaded by a 45-second film, the documen- tary-style visuals range from bustling London streets to wild Icelandic landscapes. PrimaLoft Launches "Utility" Technology PrimaLo's latest technology innovation highlights excep- tional durability, ease of care, and unparalleled performance in challenging conditions. Designed to excel in the harshest conditions, PrimaLo Utility technology fea- tures enhanced structural integrity for overall resilience, with high level abrasion, and compression resistance properties that also provide product longevity, an important element of sustain- able design. PrimaLo Utility allows for a wide selection of fabric options, from highly breathable garments to those built to withstand the most rugged usage. Another feature is resistance to high-tem- perature laundering. Huntsman Develops Liquid TPU for Footwear Huntsman has developed a liquid thermoplastic polyurethane (LTPU), a first for the footwear industry, that enables the rapid manufacture of high-performing midsoles and is aligned with the circularity ambitions of brands manufacturing sports and ath- leisure footwear. According to the company, the Smartlite O liquid thermoplastic polyurethane (LTPU) system using significantly less water and energy during production and generates less waste and carbon emissions. It can also be converted and repurposed into new materials either in its post-industrial or post-consumer form. Huntsman collaborated with the framas Group on the product launch. Noble BioMaterials Unveils Denim Launch Noble Biomaterials in col- laboration with longtime brand partner Mack Weldon announce the direct-to-consumer launch of Silver Denim, the first-ever jeans made with Noble's Ionic+ Silver woven into the fabric. e new program builds on Noble's Ionic+ technology featured in Mack Weldon underwear and t-shirts, and brings permanently embedded, positively-charged silver ions into yarn fibers to inhibit bacteria and microbes on the fabric's surface. Cone Denim is the third player in the collaboration, helping to innovate jeans that blend pre- mium cotton with antimicrobial performance protection. It's a unique situation with three col- laborators, but a business model that looks to be directional in the next generation of brand- ing, according to Allon Cohne, global marketing director, Noble BioMaterials. "With three brands you can leverage the involvement of all. It's a win across the board in a new way." n A Seasonal Round Up of the Latest Industry News and Developments.
