8 • Footwear Insight ~ July/August 2024 footwearinsight.com A fter initially launching its performance soccer footwear line with signature styles for England striker Harry Kane in the UK and Europe last September, Skechers is now expanding to markets around the world (including the U.S.) with a growing range of soccer boots, led by the new Skechers Evolution pack. e Skechers Soccer range includes three Elite styles available for men and women, priced at $90-$225. And Skechers will soon introduce a new line of entry level styles for all levels of play, as well as Youth and Kids boots. Both ranges will be available in both firm ground and turf styles. e Skechers Soccer collection is available at Skechers websites, select Skechers retail stores, as well as specialty soccer stores worldwide. n E arlier this month, New Balance officially launched its first Shohei Ohtani Signature Collection. The two-time American League MVP's line features on-field performance styles, off-field sports style essentials and his first signature cleat, which launched on July 15. Shohei's logo is a sketch of him rounding first base. Overall, the collection's design aims to pay tribute to the traditional old-school style while bringing a new-school twist, according to Ohtani. "Every item can fit an athlete's wardrobe on and off the field and collaborating with New Balance to cap- ture that perfect balance was such an exciting moment for me," he stated. The collection includes the FuelCell Ohtani 1 cleat ($159.99), which is designed to sit closer to the ground and features the brand's FuelCell foam. It is also available in a trainer (turf ) style ($119.99). The initial drop also features graphic t-shirts, hoodies, woven pants and a nylon jacket.
