Mostly I'd love to have access to foam rolling/recovery workshops, yoga/pilates courses, training programs, etc. Also swap an old bra for $5 towards a new bra, swap old shoes for $10 towards new pair, etc. Age 37 More trail running and ultra-marathon gear! It's almost always an aerthought in the corner. Age 35 ey need to be able to compete in price with other retail stores. I went to A Snail's Pace because of their insoles. Age 50 Self-defense classes. Age 38 More discounted prices and free items. I want to support local stores, but it's hard when I can get the same shoes and clothes online for a lot less. Age 35 Put us together with law enforcement in the same room, and tell us unequivocally whether or not we will get in trouble for deploying pepper spray. Many women I know in San Francisco are afraid they will get in trouble for using pepper spray unless they can prove they were afraid for their lives. So, they don't know if it is worth the legal risk to carry pepper spray. But what other self-defense tools do we really have, as women? Age 49 Variety of fits of apparel not just tight fitted or small sizes. Age 37 Classes or groups that offer events for people and their dogs. Age 30 Yes!!!! Maybe host free clinics for proper stretching and or chiropractic care for foot injuries. e chiropractor has been able to do more to heal running injuries more than any orthopedic doctor. Age 52 Also enter drawings for the newest socks or gear with a purchase. Age 47 I'd love more sports bra options for real boobs! Age 48 Inclusive, welcoming, helpful store reps. Age 51 Yes, now that you have presented the idea to me, I wish more safety items were front and center! Age 55 I definitely think it would be awesome and beneficial for more running stores to offer women some sort of self-defense classes. Anything to ease the concern of running alone, actually. It's become an issue and deters lots of women from running. Myself, included. Age 40 More shoe size options for smaller feet. Age 44 I would love our specialty stores to offer more member discounts. Age 42 Safety awareness services and how to pick the right product for myself. Age 47 More emphasis on safety if running alone. Offering those products in store and possibly local self-defense courses in my area. Age 38 I like the idea of having free or discounted safety apps for everyone, not just women. I see runners of both genders and everyone needs to be safe. Age 55 I co-lead a women runners group. We always appreciate when a local run store comes to say hello and share for a raffle. Also, community runs with raffle to give exposure to the store. Support local. Age 41 A mini track to run in place to check the shoe like a treadmill or something. Age 45 Running clubs. I love meeting people through running — moving to a new town has been hard. I found a running club, but it took time. If the running store had a running club or offered a place to meet up before hand and hang out aerward (don't even need to give us anything free), just space on a Saturday morning or early on weekday mornings, that would be awesome. Sometimes we just need available space with like-minded people. Age 43 When training for my last marathon, I had a fitting, and a gait-analysis performed and really appreciated the feedback from a PT specialist! Age 31 Options for running seminars or running travel excursions. Age 52 I wish they would promote early access to loyal customers more oen. Age 44 Yes, I wish running specialty stores offered more variety in footwear options, especially for different foot shapes and running styles. It would also be great to see more accessories like hydration packs, recovery tools, and nutrition products. Additionally, workshops or events on training and injury prevention would be valuable for runners. Age 34 Women training run groups. Age 48 I would like to see more items like whistles, alarms, pepper spray and maybe even discounts or a free self- defense class. Age 53 Sports bras for bigger chests (and small bands). Age 40 Access the other races and more support for nonprofit organizations. Also, getting children into running and groups to help accomplish that. Age 38 Trained staff to analyze gait. A good return policy. Many stores don't allow returns yet if you buy directly from brand online, they let you try the product and return if not happy. Age 57 More events for newbie runners to feel more comfortable. It can be intimidating. Age 36 Nutrition samples — trying out different flavors of electrolytes, gels, etc.. Age 36 I teach self-defense at a local dojo. It would be awesome to have a local running store partner with a place like that where there were regular meet ups or seminars. Age 39 Running socks and help choosing the correct ones. Age 27 More variety of brands. Age 41 Better bra selection. Age 46 More women workers. Age 40 Gear and advice for running in different seasons/ climates. Safety gear that is not ugly. Age 32 Tailored insoles to the various strides and steps would be nice as well as in store demos. Age 38 Bigger clothing for bigger people. Age 33 I wish more women's running apparel had reflectors. I am a little jealous of some of the men I run with...their clothes have strips of reflective on them. Age 47 I'd like to see more shoe recycling programs — I think every run store should have this. I don't see a lot of women's nights or safety events (self-defense, etc.) so think that's a cool idea. Educational resources as well. Age 35 I love a pub run but feel like they fell out of fashion aer covid. Age 36 Yes! Long run groups! It would be so fun if a store offered long runs, even if for a small fee, with a course routed, maps, water stops, and company to run with!! Age 44 I love seeing gi certificates as finisher awards. Age 44 A small bit of reading material I can walk away with and not feel intimidated to be a marathon runner. Small interest. Maybe huge interest later on. ose stores can be overwhelming. Female 45 Watching you run and helping you personalize a shoe for your running needs. Age 33 Inspiring talks from runners - both notable people and your average runner that is relatable. Age 40 50 runstyle Winter 2025 runstylemag.com FINISH LINE ARE THERE SPECIFIC PRODUCTS, SERVICES, OR EXPERIENCES YOU WISH RUNNING SPECIALTY STORES OFFERED MORE OF? CONSUMER SURVEY OF WOMEN RUNNERS
