When you need a laboratory test, nothing is more frustrating than using a facility that doesn't accept your
insurance, doesn't perform the test you need, or doesn't have convenient hours.
We operate differently. We're here for you (not the other way around). Through our patient service centers
conveniently located throughout the region, we perform the full range of tests, from the simplest to the
most specialized. And, we accept all major insurance plans, including Oxford, United, Emblem, and Aetna.

TH I S I S TH E fifth year the school
district has held a career day for its
students. This year's turnout included
about 700 sophomores, juniors and
seniors who met with representatives
from approximately 35 colleges and
businesses, including Plainview and
Syosset hospitals.
"The North Shore-LIJ Health
System table is always one of the
students' favorites," said Denise
Delury, school-to-career coordinator
for the Massapequa School District.
"A lot of our students are interested
in health care, and the hospital
employees often bring visuals and the
tools they use to engage the students."
The December career event was
held during the school day. In March,
the district also held one at night for
students in grades seven through 12
and their parents. Plainview and
Syosset hospitals participated in that
event as well.
"It has been such a rewarding
experience for our staff to help inform
these young community members
about some of their career options,"
said Margie Pemberton, RN, associate
executive director of ancillary services
at Plainview and Syosset hospitals.
Hospital participants included
the administrative director of
radiology/cardiology, the director of
rehabilitation services, the director
of food and nutrition, the director of
volunteer services, a nurse educator,
a wound care nurse and a clinical
pharmacist.
