INGREDIENTS 8 oz. white button mushrooms 2 tablespoons oil ½ cup chopped onions 3 cloves minced garlic 1 teaspoon dried thyme 4 slices whole-wheat bread, toasted DIRECTIONS 1. Wash the mushrooms well under cold water and dry thoroughly. Slice thinly or cut into quarters. 2. In a heavy skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms in an even layer and cook for five minutes, until they begin to brown. Add the onions and garlic and continue cooking until the onions are translucent, about five minutes more.
