outpatient labs Receive Outstanding Reviews Gladys Van Driss, phlebotomist, is one of many trained staff members working at CentraState's Outpatient Laboratories who go out of their way to make patients feel comfortable during their visits. "The longest I've ever had to wait was 15 minutes," says Florence Scafidi, who visits the Lab on the main hospital campus. "When I go for checkups, my doctor receives the results and calls to update me on the results the very next day." The staff embraces the mission of providing compassion to patients, many of whom visit the lab frequently W for testing. hether you need lab-testing services once a year or once a week, the Outpatient Labs at CentraState Medical Center and the new location at the Medical Offices in Monroe offer quick and comprehensive testing. The Outpatient Lab on CentraState's campus is convenient for patients and physicians, with free valet parking service that allows you to drop off your vehicle, register, receive your testing, and be on your way in a timely matter. The staff, consisting of board-certified pathologists, medical technicians, and phlebotomists, allows patients to usually complete tests in less than 10 minutes and receive results the next day. 12 March/April 2012 "They're wonderful. They ask how I am, and they make it all personable," explains Rita Silverman, who also visits the main campus Lab. "They have a convenient system that allows me to receive my reports quickly so I can have them in my hands for my personal records and other medical appointments." Lab services are available to people of all ages without an appointment for most tests (excluding glucose and lactose intolerance tests). "I do a lot of walking near my neighborhood and discovered the lab in Monroe," says Salvatore Tortora, a patient at the Monroe Lab. "I have lab testing every two weeks, and this is so convenient—I can literally walk from my house. I absolutely love it there." Both labs are accredited by the College of American Pathologists, the American Association of Blood Banks, and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
