You can learn what we needed to do to create an advanced cancer center that helps patients and their caregivers feel relaxed and comfortable. You can read about our expanding clinical trials program, our community outreach efforts, and the incredible nurses who connect with the hearts and spirits of our patients every day. We're delighted when our efforts are noticed. In April 2015, White Plains Hospital was designated a Lung Cancer Screening Center by the American College of Radiology. In August, we received CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ accreditation, recognizing our commitment to the health of our employees and their families by providing ample opportunities to reduce cancer risk as well as extensive support during and after a cancer diagnosis. In September, we were one of only 23 U.S. healthcare facilities with accredited cancer programs to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, a national honor that acknowledges cancer programs that achieve excellence in providing high-quality patient care. We were also reaccredited this year by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. The pace of advances in our understanding and treatment of cancer continues to accelerate, and we don't expect it to slow down. At White Plains Hospital, we'll continue to make progress at an equally amazing pace to make sure that everyone in our community— including our patients, employees, fellow healthcare professionals, and neighbors—benefits from the most advanced cancer care services and education.
