PROJECT: Cranberry Cove, Hopkinton, MA BUILDER: E. W. Tarca Construction ARCHITECT: Jerry Johnson This 9,000-square-foot Old-World Tuscan-style home features exquisite cast stone detailing. "French Country and more Old World features were highlighted in the original spec house at Cranberry Cove. This particular home was Boston magazine's '2004 Design Home,' which received tons of accolades," Ed says. "E.W. Tarca worked with Boston magazine and vendors for 4 or 5 weeks, to benefit The Home for Little Wanderers charity organization. Needless to say, the home sold almost immediately after the show. It has hand-rubbed mahogany beams in the billiards room and a spectacular, award-winning home theater room. The closet was made of high- tech MDF in our millwork shop, but we faux finished it to look like real mahogany. We actually did this strategically, to demonstrate how our faux finish capabilities can make a new product look more than 100 years old." PHOTOGRAPHER: BETTY MOORE One-of-a-kind trim and details go into every house built by Ed Tarca. Many features are custom-built in their millwork shop. in Hopkinton, MA. PHOTOGRAPHER: ERIC ROTH shop, where we design and fabricate virtually all cabinetry, molding, kitchen and exterior architectural components that go into our homes. Here, clients are free to choose all the built-ins, kitchen cabinets and paint finishes, which ensure their ultimate satisfaction." The millwork shop is an in-house carpen- try and woodworking center that allows the company to keep the most detailed elements of construction under its control and, subse- quently, at the disposal of its clients.
