FALL, WITH ITS changing leaves and cooler temperatures that spur me to get outside, always gives me a renewed appreciation for our region. Like you, I believe we live in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. Throughout the past year, we here at King's Daughters' Health have made an effort to make sure that doctors around the country think that, too. Physician recruitment has been a top priority of ours this year. While KDH's current providers already excel at serving the health and wellness needs of our community, we've realized the residents of Madison and the surrounding areas need access to more doctors, particularly those who work in the area of primary care. It's part of our commitment to ensuring everyone we serve has access to the best healthcare, close to where they live and work. We've dedicated significant resources to hiring a physician recruiter whose sole job is finding doctors and other providers who are interested in working here. We're also working with professional recruitment firms and enlisting the help of our existing healthcare providers, who assist us in finding potential candidates and determining competitive benefits and salaries. On page 8, you'll meet Russell Gornichec, MD, our newest general surgeon, who joined the KDH staff as part of our recruitment efforts. He, like many other new doctors, visited our facility and was drawn to our commitment to advanced technologies and the camaraderie and teamwork of our medical staff, as well as to Madison's friendly community and scenic beauty. We'd also like to send a huge thank you to our existing providers who've served the community for months and years and who help spread the message that our area is a great place to live. They have many other places they could go – and we're thrilled they've chosen KDH. ■ Like us on Facebook to keep up with all the news about KDH's providers, both new and established.
