According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence of gestational diabetes is as high as 9.2 percent. If you are an expectant mother with gestational diabetes, CentraState's Novo Nordisk Diabetes Center's diabetes educators can help ensure you have a smooth pregnancy. Your educator will provide you with an individualized meal plan and teach you how and when to test your blood sugars during a two-hour appointment. Our goal is to keep you and your baby safe and healthy—so you can enjoy this special time. It is recommended that you schedule your free follow-up appointment after the delivery to help reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. To participate in the pregnancy diabetes program, a physician referral or prescription from your CentraState primary care physician is required. If you need help finding a CentraState physician, call 866-CENTRA7 (866-236-8727).
