That is why CHI St. Joseph's Health continues to expand our physical rehabilitation services for the community. Our highly trained, certified staff of therapists focuses on helping patients reduce muscle and joint pain, overcome neurological challenges caused by injury and disease, master daily living skills, regain functionality and mobility, and much more. Inside this issue, you will get to know these skilled and committed healthcare professionals and discover why they are driven to care for patients' rehabilitative needs. Part of our mission of healing as a healthcare provider is to reach out to the areas we serve through wellness programs that may help prevent the need for hospital care. That goal is what the Hubbard in Prevention Coalition, or HIP, is all about. We champion funding of this program to educate area youth and their parents about the health consequences of substance abuse. We are pleased to announce the program was recently awarded a five-year, $625,000 Drug-Free Communities Support Program Grant toward the continuation and expansion of this important work. Another way we bring our healing mission to the people of Park Rapids is through the CHI St. Joseph's Health Weight Management Center. As a record number of Americans struggle to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, the dedicated team at this center is helping area residents embrace the challenge of living a healthier life. Lastly, I would like to recognize the entire staff at CHI St. Joseph's Health for continuing to place patient safety at the forefront of everything we do. The Minnesota Hospital Association recently recognized CHI St. Joseph's Health for superior performance in patient safety. We were among the first 16 hospitals across the entire state to receive this recognition. I am very proud of the work of our staff and their daily commitment to our SafetyFirst program. Thank you for entrusting us with your family's medical care. I encourage you to contact me with questions, concerns, and suggestions regarding CHI St. Joseph's Health.
