Orthopedics, especially, is like a family reunion—you see people on occasion for certain problems, then you don't see them again for a while, though you may see another family member. We're here for the entire community." —CRAIG CLARK, MD, FAAOS, DIRECTOR OF ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY AT SOUTHEAST ORTHOPEDICS WHETHER YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVITY IS RUNNING, BIKING, KAYAKING OR PLAYING WITH YOUR KIDS, WE WANT TO GET YOU BACK TO IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It's a long way from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Columbus County, North Carolina, but when the opportunity to become director of orthopedic surgery at Southeast Orthopedics arose, that suited Craig Clark, MD, FAAOS, just fine. After seeing his children off to college, Dr. Clark was looking for a new challenge and welcomed the chance to become a part of the community while also offering top-quality orthopedic care. "When I was a kid, I always liked to take things apart and then learn how to put them back together," Dr. Clark says. "Orthopedics is a lot like that—putting things back together and having a certain amount of pride in your workmanship when you do it." Dr. Clark, who is board-certified in orthopedics and sports medicine, has been practicing orthopedics for 20 years. Services provided by Southeast Orthopedics include: • Total hip and knee replacements • Knee and shoulder arthroscopy • Ligament reconstruction • Splinting and casting • Physical therapy Southeast Orthopedics will also offer injection therapies such as platelet- rich plasma (PRP), which is injected into areas that have trouble mending in order to stimulate healing and growth. Dr. Clark, who has treated patients ranging from Olympic gold medalists and members of the Boxing Hall of Fame to Little League baseball players who experience elbow pain, believes it's essential to remain focused on the individual patient. "We've got a great team here, and that one-on-one doctor-and-patient relationship is important to maintain," Dr. Clark says. "My biggest focus is on listening to the patient. Without that communication, you're not going to get the information you need to come up with the best solution." Within Arm's Reach ORTHOPEDIC CARE
