For more than 40 years, the Physical Therapy Department at CHIMercy Health has helped ValleyCity residents move forward with recovery. Werecently joined forces with the team at CHI Healthat Home tofurther enhance our services. With almost 70 years of combined experience, the therapists at CHI Mercy Health know how to individualize care and help patients nd successful outcomes. Our team works with hospitalized patients and patients who receive care on an outpatient basis. Now, we also partner with the CHI Health at Home team, comprised of nurses and therapists, as an added convenience. "The physical therapy team has always adapted to meet the needs of patients and incorporate best practices in health care, and this collaboration is another extension of our mission to promote health and healing for community residents," says Donna Smith, MS, OTR/L, occupational therapist and rehabilitation manager, Physical Therapy Department, CHI Mercy Health. "We are here to provide physical therapy services for patients with a wide range of conditions, injuries, and diseases." A BALANCING ACT From treating patients with cardiac conditions and neurological disorders to helping patients nd stability after a hip, knee, or shoulder replacement surgery, our physical therapy team nds great satisfaction in working one- on-one to help patients meet their therapy goals. "We focus on making the experience fun and rewarding for our patients," Donna says. "We celebrate their successes and always treat them as part of the team." Julie Halgrimson, PTA Experience: 22 years Hobbies: Married with three kids, Julie enjoys gardening and spending time with her new daughter-in-law when she isn't treating patients part-time. Randy Kollman, PT Experience: 7 years Hobbies: Randy enjoys dirt track racing and time with his wife in their newly built home. Chrissie Kunze, MPT Experience: 15 years Hobbies: Chrissie enjoys reading, walking, or playing near water with her family of four.
