O Little Town of Pendleton Join us and celebrate the reason for the season at the 26th annual WinterFest the weekend of Dec. 1 and 2. Every winter, community members spend a weekend of holiday fun at WinterFest (formerly Festival of Trees), a fundraiser hosted by your CHI St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation. The event brings together the magic of the holiday season and the best of human spirit as we work together to raise funds for community nonprofits. FUN FOR EVERYONE WinterFest kicks off on Friday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m., with our gala celebration. Surrounded by exquisitely decorated trees, guests will spend an enchanted evening enjoying cocktails, live jazz, and a steak and seafood buffet dinner. Live and silent auctions will follow dinner. Other highlights include a Mystery Gift Tree and Find the Pickle Scavenger Hunt. Guests will also have the opportunity to browse the WinterFest Holiday Gift Shop brimming with locally made items. To make tree trimming a breeze this year, consider buying a live, pre-lit tree from the gala event. "Having a live tree with the lights already strung on it is a really nice treat," says Janeen Reding, WinterFest Co-chair. "I've purchased one for the last few years. Going straight to the ornaments and not having to mess with tangled up tree lights is my guilty pleasure." Wake up that next morning, Saturday, Dec. 2, and bring your children along to Family Fun Day, a time to make crafts, eat holiday treats, drink cocoa, take a photo with Santa Claus, and sing along to seasonal songs. Enjoy these activities at no charge, thanks to Wildhorse Resort & Casino's generosity. Family day events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets to WinterFest cost $35 per person. To purchase, call 541-966-0528. Gifts From the Heart This year, CHI St. Anthony Hospital Foundation partnered with two nonprofits —the Children's Museum of Eastern Oregon (CMEO) and the Pioneer Relief Nursery (PRN), a family outreach program—that will benefit from WinterFest. "Donations will support educational programs at PRN and help purchase a set of oversized blocks for children at CMEO," says Janeen Reding, WinterFest Co-chair. "These two organizations share our mission of upholding community health and wellness." Remaining funds will go toward hospital-specific needs. sahpendleton.org /// CATHOLIC HEALTH INITIATIVES 5
