SELECTED COMMENTS... YES NO 22% If you shop online, does the eCommerce site's return policy impact your decision to purchase footwear from that site? ONLINE footwearinsight.com May/June 2023 ~ Footwear Insight • 43 What are your expectations for the return policy from eCommerce sites? 100% full refund. Male 48 Free shipping. Female 30 Give me return shipping label and provide a drop off location, and it's free. Male 52 Returns with no questions if the product is not used within 30 days. Male 42 I would expect a refund if they look new / have not been worn outside, or are defective or don't fit. Returns should be free. Female 56 Some kind of window of time where if you are unsatisfied, you can bring it back. Male 38 I expect eCommerce sites to accept returns if I have not worn the shoes. e eCommerce site needs to be able to re-sell what I return. Male 37 Returns must be accepted, and I prefer shoes with a warranty. Female 43 90 day returns. Male 27 At least 30 to 60 days. If the shoes hurt then I would like to take them back. You only know if they hurt by wearing them. Male 50 Free shipping both ways, especially because size is so important to get right and I always order 2 sizes to test out. Male 45 Same as in-store, an ability to return in 30 days if not worn outside or materially used. I prefer to be able to return them to a local store, but that is not a must. Male 50 30 day return policy; in light of shipping delays. Female 60 e chance to try them on and return them within 30 days if they don't fit/ have a defect. Male 34 Amazon-like return policy. Easy drop off at UPS store or something like that and the drop off location scans your QR code from your phone and they take care of everything easy peasy. Male 37 30-day return policy from online eCommerce site used to purchase footwear. Female 28 e return label should be included at no cost within 90 days of return, slightly worn. Female 39 3 months. Male 38 I'd expect that if they don't fit, aren't as pictured or described, or came in damaged, I'd be able to return them. Female 32 Minimum of 14 days, and can be used. Return label included. Male 29 I only order from eCommerce sites that have a streamlined process in place for returns. I expect to have an easy time getting an RA and being able to self-print a return shipping label. Female 28 I expect a return policy that allows unworn shoes to be returned within a couple of months' time. Female 32 Full refund if returned in like-new condition with no shipping costs to return if shoes do not fit or do not meet comfort/performance expectations. Male 45 Full refund on credit card and return shipping free. Female 50 If they are running/ hiking/ activity shoe I would like some kind of 20-30 day minimum to run in the shoes to make sure they are correct for me. If they are some kind of fashion shoe I just want to be able to try them on in my house to see if I like them or not and be able to return them if they do not agree with my feet. Female 29 I don't want a restocking fee and I expect an easy process with at least a 30-day window. Female 53 Free full return within 30 days unworn. Female 33 For running: Take the shoes back if they don't perform well or hold up in the first few runs. Male 35 It most definitely should have a 30-60 days return policy, and need not be new or unopened. It's very important to accept worn shoes as well and that does impact my decision about purchasing from them. Female 25 Fast, efficient, and no fuss. I don't like when a company won't make good on returns. I think that they feel that if you get frustrated you will just give up. Male 45 Able to return easily, shipping prepaid, if footwear doesn't fit, isn't comfortable, or has defects. Male 51 I expect an eCommerce site to have a 30-60 day return policy with a return shipping label included. Since an individual cannot try on the shoe or really see what it looks like in advance, all online purchases are riskier than at a brick-and-mortar. Male 44 Upfront communication of return policy and they will take back anything unused. Male 30 I can wear them for a run and return them if they aren't comfortable. Female 32 Tags on, not worn, within 60 days, easy returns (drop off at physical store/place, free returns, mailing label easily accessible). Female 43 Same as brick-and-mortar. e ability to try and wear the shoes within reason to decide if they fit and are for me or not. Usually wearing indoors or something like that would be paramount in me being able to decide. Male 31 I would expect the return to be as good as Amazon; if not, I will buy from Amazon. Female 47 You should be able to return within 30 days without any massive signs of wear. Trying a pair of shoes on and maybe jogging a little bit for walking. A little bit is very important to feel the fit. Many customers will purchase multiple sizes of the same shoe to see which one fits best. Female 35 If I have the receipt and if I paid for shipping, there should be free returns. Male 23 at they take back the shoes if they are uncomfortable or do not meet one of the criteria they stated (waterproofing, breathable) etc. If the fit is not correct, despite measuring and using the brand-specific size chart. Female 41 78% POWERED BY
