For the past 45 years, Roger Stack, Materials Manager, CHI Mercy
Health, has played a behind-the-scenes role, helping people heal,
one supply order at a time.
Keeping track of hospital inventory, purchasing supplies, and distributing them takes a
logical mind and ordered approach, making Roger essential to the health of the entire
hospital. He views it as a healing ministry—one he is not ready to retire from yet.
"This role lines up well with my faith, allowing me to use my gifts to equip others to
do their jobs with excellence," Roger says. "We all have different skill sets and really do act
together, as one team, to support the health of Valley City."
At the annual banquet, CHI Mercy Health President Keith Heuser gave Roger a monetary
gift for his four decades of service. He plans to save the money—a decision consistent with
his methodical approach to life.
For Roger, stability is key.
"What matters to me is being there for the people who need me, and CHI Mercy Health
has provided me with tools to do my job well and a flexible work schedule to be there for my
loved ones," Roger says.
Off the clock, Roger enjoys spending time with his wife, JoAnn, and his four adult
children, watching live and televised sporting events, and making woodwork and artwork.
