About 300 people celebrated the sizzle of Latino
cuisine and culture while helping to raise money for
ACLAMO Family Centers at the Second Annual
ACLAMO Culinary Celebration on April 30 at
Montgomery County Community College.
Hosted by ACLAMO (Accion Comunal
Latinoamericana de Montgomery County) and
The Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) of Montgomery
County Community College, the event featured
cuisine with a Latino flair from local restaurants,
samples of wine and beer and musical entertainment
by the Habanero Latin Band and Belmary Lorcas.
Iris Delgado, an anchor/reporter for Telemundo62 in
Philadelphia, emceed the event.
Proceeds help support the Latino community and
low-income residents of Montgomery County and
provide a $2,000 scholarship for a Latino student
to attend CAI. In 2016, Karen Ruiz received the
ACLAMO Scholarship to attend CAI.

Arts Institute of MCCC Francine Marz greet visitors as they arrive at the annual Culinary Celebration.
Faculty, staff and administrators hosted more than 240 students from Pottstown Middle School at West Campus in Pottstown for a day of hands-on, interactive activities in the areas of
science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
