The LaCrosse, which goes on sale in early summer 2016, features a new grille design with a large opening distinguished by the return of a three- color — red, silver and blue — Buick tri-shield insignia, accented by wing- shaped elements set against darkened waterfall grille bars inspired by the 1954 Wildcat II concept. "The new LaCrosse is drop-dead gorgeous and signals the next phase of Buick's international momentum," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick. "Its quietness, comfort and connectivity were developed to set new standards in the segment, supported by technologies not offered on competitors such as the Lexus ES." Longer, lower and wider than the current model, the 2017 LaCrosse is built on a stronger yet lighter struc- ture. It is about 300 pounds lighter than the current LaCrosse — largely due to the use of press-hardened, high-strength steels — which con- tribute to greater efficiency and more responsive handling. * FORD TO SPONSOR QUICK LANE BOWL The University of Minnesota and Central Michigan University will play in the 2015 Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field on Monday, Dec. 28, at 5 p.m. The game will air nationally on ESPN2. Tickets start as low as $29 are available at quicklanebowl.com, by phone at (877) 212-8898 and in-per- son at the Ford Field Ticket Office Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Fans can follow the official twitter account of the Quick Lane Bowl @quicklanebowl for the most current game information. Minnesota, which played one of the toughest schedules in the nation, finished the season with a 5-7 record. The Gophers have played four teams with at least 10 wins and that number could raise to six if Wisconsin and Michigan win their bowl games. Central Michigan wrapped up the 2015 season with a 7-5 over- all record, 6-2 in the MAC and a share of the MAC West Division title. First-year head coa ch John Bonamego led the Chippewas to a first-place tie in the tough West Division and ended the year by win- ning their final two games and five of the last six regular season games. This will be the second year of a multiyear agreement for Ford's Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center as the title sponsor of an annual college football bowl game at Ford Field. * Now through Jan. 4, 2016, more than 23 million veteran U.S. military personnel and their spouses can join active duty, reserved and retired service personnel in receiving the GM Military Discount on eligible Chevrolet, Buick and GMC models.
