hen it comes to the way we
approach driving, the basic
concept hasn't changed much
in the past 100 years. Get behind the
wheel, press the accelerator to go, hit the
brake to stop and follow the dotted line.
But as with most areas of our lives, tech-
nology changes the way we do things.
It changes our behaviors. The advance-
ment in connectivity has lead to automa-
tion of simple tasks: Our refrigerators
can now talk to our phones which can
talk to our watches which tell us, "We are
out of milk. Please pick some up on your
way home."
Now it's time to tackle something a little
more complex: Transportation. The way
we commute is getting the Internet of
Things (IoT) treatment. But there are a
lot more details, more players and more
hurdles. There's also an element of safety
on which no one is willing to compromise.
