AACREDITUNION.ORG | 19 1) Successful career-switchers tended to switch to careers that leveraged abilities they already have, the AIER survey found. Consider seeking a new career in a related field that still indulges your newfound interest without leaving behind your hard-earned skills and experience. 2) Prepare financially. Half of the respondents to the AIER survey reported earning higher pay in their new career, and another 18 percent earned the same. However, that leaves nearly a third earning less.
